Picks

Log on to FantasyFairway.com and click on the submit pick tab. Once the field is officially set, typically by Monday morning, there will be a drop down box of the players in the field. Simply select your golfer from the drop down box to make your pick for the tournament. Only players in the official field will be listed in the drop down box for selection. Please note that you are ultimately responsible for your pick. The management of FantasyFairway.com updates the official field several times throughout the week, but sometimes last minute changes do occur, so please be aware of your pick and your golfer's status. FantasyFairway.com will not be responsible in the event that a user selects a golfer that is removed and/or not included in the field. (top)

This is not a problem and will more than likely occur many weeks throughout the season. This fantasy golf system is not based on any draft system or pick priority system. Each week you make your own pick independent of everyone else's pick. Many players will select the same golfer in a week over the course of the season and often you will have the same pick as other players in your league. You must use strategy to build your pool of golfers over the course of all the tournaments and earn your points on a week by week basis. The strategy of the game is to pick the best golfer each week and to score the most cumulative points by the end of the season. (top)

Once you make your selection from the drop down your pick has been submitted. You may also notice on the page that it says "Pick made for Tournament XYZ = Golfer 123". You will also receive an automatic pick confirmation email if you have enabled the receive email notification option under account settings. Additionally, you will have a Picks to Date list below the submit pick frame that allows you to view your pick for the current tournament(s) as well as all your picks for each tournament to date. (top)

The management of FantasyFairway.com does its best to ensure that only the players that are in the field are eligible to be submitted and are in the submit pick drop down menu. Once the official field is released, only those golfers should be found in the drop down. As golfers withdraw and alternates are entered into the field during the week, management will update the field. However, it is ultimately the responsibility of the players ensure that their pick is in the field and remains in the field or not. If you would like to select a player in the field that is not found in the drop down list, please email the commissioner immediately by using the "Email Commissioner" button on your home page. (top)

No. You are not allowed to pick the same golfer twice. Part of the strategy of the game is how you manage your selections for tournaments with higher or lower purses. (See tournament schedule under Reports to help determine when you might want to play more experienced players for larger payouts and when to take a chance on a "sleeper" for smaller tournament payouts.) Once you have selected a player for a tournament, that player will no longer be included in the submit pick drop down for any subsequent tournaments. You can always check to see who you have picked to date by checking the "Picks to Date" report under the Submit Picks page, or the "PGA Player Picks to Date" page under reports. (top)

The deadline to pick a player is 15 minutes prior to the first tee time of each tournament. The tee times are generally announced the day before the event so the exact cut-off time is not known until then, however it is generally around 7:00 am local time to the tournament. Once the official tee times are announced, the cut-off time will be updated and you will have up until 15 minutes prior to the first tee time to make your pick. You may submit a pick beginning anytime the tournament is considered active, which is typically 96 hours prior to the start of the event. (top)

You are allowed to change your pick at any time before the cut-off time. You may change your pick as many times as you like before the cut-off time. You will receive a confirmation email each time you change your pick, if you have enabled the receive email notification option under account settings. The cut-off time is 15 minutes before the first tee time of the tournament. (top)

Though you can pick an amateur player in the field, in most circumstances amateur players cannot earn official money. Since you earn points in the game based on the official earnings of the player you select it is not recommended that you select amateurs. See Scoring above. (top)

You will not receive any points for the week, but other than receiving 0 points for the week there is no additional penalty. Think of it as selecting a player who misses a cut, but not having to use a player. Not submitting a player is not recommended, but should not ruin your fantasy season if it happens once or twice. (top)

If your player withdraws prior to the start of a tournament the management of FantasyFairway.com will typically remove the player from the field and consequently your pick will be removed. You will receive an email notification that your player has been removed from the field and that a new pick is required before the cut-off time. The pick is officially removed so that the player is eligible to be picked again for a future tournament even if you are unable to change your pick before the cut-off time.

If your player withdraws just before play begins and the management of FantasyFairway.com is not able to update the field either because a player withdrew after the tournament started or withdrew just before a tournament starts, you will still have the opportunity to change the pick yourself up until the pick cut-off time. In the event that the field is not updated and you are not able to make the change, FantasyFairway.com management will retroactively remove the player from your picks. You will receive 0 points for the tournament, but will be able to pick that player for future tournaments. Please remember that you are ultimately responsible for your pick. (top)

Yes, you will receive an automatic email notification to the email account you have on file under your account settings 18 hours prior to the start of the event letting you know that you have not submitted a pick and the cut-off time for when the pick is due. (top)

If your pick begins play and does not finish for any reason (including but not limited to the conditions above) the pick will be counted, you will receive 0 points for the tournament, and that player is not eligible to be picked for a future tournament. (top)

Schedule

For this season of fantasy golf, we play 35 tournaments beginning with the Sony Open in Hawaii and ending with the Wyndham Championship. Please note there are a few occasions where there are multiple tournaments in a week and a few tournaments that begin on Wednesday rather than Thursday. You will receive an automatic pick notification reminder 18 hours prior to the start of an event regardless of which day the tournament begins, if you have not made a pick at that time. The season will be divided into 3 segments - Segment 1 will be from the Sony Open until the Shell Houston Open; Segment B will be from the Masters through the US Open; and Segment 3 will be from the Quicken Loans National through the Wyndham Championship. The overall grand winner will be the player with the most points over all 35 tournaments. There player with the most points in each individual segment will receive a Nike Method Concept Putter ($199 MSRP). (top)

No, for this fantasy golf game we will only play PGA events and will not be playing European Tour, Nationwide Tour, any other professional Tour or special events. You may check our fantasy schedule by logging in to FantasyFairway.com and clicking on "Tournaments Schedule" under the Reports tab. (top)

If there are 2 PGA events that occur on the same week, you will pick golfers for both events. For example, Mar. 23rd - Mar. 27th, there are two PGA events (WGC Dell Match Play & the Puerto Rico Open), so you should select a player for both events, because they are both official PGA events. There will be two drop down boxes under the submit pick page for you to select golfers for both events. You will receive an automatic pick notification reminder 18 hours prior to the start of each event, in the event that there are multiple tournaments, you will receive two reminders. (top)

If the tournament is postponed or delayed, the management of FantasyFairway.com will follow the schedule of the PGA tour. If the tournament has begun, the picks will typically be released as scheduled. If the dates of the event changes, FantasyFairway.com will adjust its schedule accordingly. (top)

Leagues

FantasyFairway.com currently offers 2 league options, public leagues and private leagues. If you select a public league, you will be placed in a league with 24 other fantasy golf enthusiasts. You will be competing for a league prize pack as well as the overall grand prizes.

If you have a group of friends or an existing league that you would like FantasyFairway.com to manage, you should consider a private league. When creating a private league you will have the opportunity to choose who you would like to invite to your private league. Private leagues are available increments of 12 player leagues up to 100 player leagues (i.e. 12, 25, 50, 75 or 100). Private leagues will compete for a league prize pack, as well as the overall grand prizes.

No matter which option you choose, both public and private leagues are eligible for overall grand prizes, segment prizes, and individual league prize packs. See Prizes section below for details on league prize packs and grand prizes. (top)

Prizes

Each league winner will receive a FantasyFairway.com Prize Pack. The prize pack will include 1 FantasyFairway.com polo shirt ($30 retail value), 1 FantasyFairway.com league champion T-Shirt ($20 retail value), 1 dozen Top Flight XL FantasyFairway.com logo balls ($18 retail value), 1 FantasyFairway.com golf visor ($18 retail value), and a FantasyFairway.com drink koozie ($2 retail value). The total retail value of league prizes is $85 dollars. Each league winner will receive a prize pack. (top)

The top 10 overall players across all public and private leagues will receive a grand prize above and beyond any league prizes they may have received. The player with the overall highest score across all public and private leagues will receive a $2000 cash prize and a premium Nike polo shirt (retail value $60). The player with the second highest score across all public and private leagues will receive a $500 cash prize and a Nike premium polo shirt (retail value $60). The player with the third highest score across all public and private leagues will receive a $250 cash prize and a premium Nike polo shirt (retail value $60). The player with the fourth highest score across all public and private leagues will receive a $100 cash prize and a Nike premium polo shirt (retail value $60). The player with the fifth highest score across all public and private leagues will receive a $50 cash prize and a premium Nike polo shirt (retail value $60). Players finishing with the 6-10 overall highest score across all public and private leagues will receive a premium Nike polo shirt (retail value $60).

Each segment winner will receive a Nike Method Concept Putter ($199 MSRP).

Additionally, each week that a player selects the tournament winner, they will be entered into a random drawing for golf balls, T-shirts and other prizes. The total cash prizes for grand prizes will be $4900. (top)

Each week any team that selects the tournament winner will be automatically entered into the weekly prize drawing. Fantasy Fairway management will randomly select 1 team who selected the winning PGA player to win a set of 6 Top Flight XL (or equivalent) Fantasy Fairway logo golf balls ($10 ARV). If no team selects the winning golfer there will be no weekly prize for that tournament. Winners will be notified via email after each weekly drawing. (top)

It is very unlikely that there is a tie at the end of the season because there are so many tournaments and different possibilities. In the unlikely event that there is a tie, the two teams tied for a league prize will both be awarded prize packs. If there is a tie among grand prize winners, the tied positions will pool their cash prizes together and then split the prize. For example, if two players are tied for a grand prize, the first place prize ($2000) and second place prize ($500) will be combined and split, so that each player earns $1250 dollars ($2500/2).
